Happy Two Month Birthday, little man! You are changing and
growing so much each day, and sometimes your dad and I just stop and smile at
each other because we are so proud of you. Here’s what you did in month number
two…
At your pediatrician well visit on September 26, you weighed
12 pounds 8 ounces and were 24 inches long. Mommy’s parents (your grandparents)
say that you are just like Mommy was: long and skinny. Maybe you’ll be tall
like Grandpa Renes! You have started getting some super cute rolls on your
thighs, too! You also got your first
immunizations at this doctor’s visit, and you did a great job! You received
three shots and one oral vaccine. You were hungry throughout the appointment,
so when the nurse gave you your oral vaccine, you went after the syringe like
it was food—you didn’t even care that it was medicine! Silly boy!
We also found out that you are going to have to go to
physical therapy for something called torticollis. When you were in Mommy’s
tummy your head was turned to the left so that side is your favorite side to
look. You don’t really like turning your head to the right and those muscles
are stiffer. We go to PT for the first time in two weeks, and I’m sure you’ll
be looking both ways in no time!

No smiles this time, baby boy? |
You are still in size one diapers, but as soon as we run out
of the ones we have we’ll move you into size twos. You fit perfectly into all
of the Carter’s 3 months clothes, some 0-3, and even some 3-6 in GAP clothes.
You have so many cute things to wear, and this month you’ll get to dress up as a
giraffe for Halloween too!
This month you spent your first evening with some
babysitters. It was Mommy’s birthday on September 20, and you spent a few hours
with our friends Isaac and Crystal while Mommy and Daddy went out to eat dinner
and go shopping. Crystal sent us a bunch of pictures of you and you had a great
time! You took two bottles and played a lot. I’m sure you’ll stay with them
again soon.

Grumpy face. |
Your favorite thing that you started doing this month is
chewing and sucking on your fists. Once you found out how to put them in your
mouth, you haven’t stopped putting them up there! Sometimes you even suck on
just your thumb. Mommy keeps trying to give you a pacifier, but you might end
up liking your thumb instead! We’ll have to wait and see.
You’re still sleeping next to Mommy and Daddy’s bed in your
Rock and Play Sleeper. You usually wake up one time between 3 and 4 to eat and
then go back to sleep. Most days you take a morning nap, afternoon nap, and
short catnaps in the evenings. Most of your naps are in the swing in the living
room or on the couch next to Mommy. This next month we are going to try taking
naps in your bed. Hopefully you like your cozy crib just as much as the swing.
Every day we thank God for blessing us as your parents. We pray that you will grow up seeing our love for the Lord and that that will lead you into choosing to have a personal relationship with Him through Jesus Christ.
All my love,
Mommy
