Meet My Family

Hi! My name is Erica and I am the author of Life and Love on the Hill! I am twenty-four years old, a new wife and new mom, and a born-again believer in Jesus Christ. Before I landed this job as a mommy, I was a first grade teacher. My students were my first babies, and I loved them dearly. When I found out I was pregnant, Matt and I spent some time praying about whether or not I should continue teaching or stay home with our baby. We were blessed with the opportunity for me to stay home, and it goes without saying that my job as my son’s mommy and teacher is the best job ever.
I am an aspiring photographer, graphic designer, and DIYer. I love Diet Pepsi, my iPhone, spending time sipping a white chocolate mocha from Starbucks while shopping at Target (a.k.a. "my happy place"), eating any and every yummy food, watching Netflix with my hubby, and getting a perfect mani and pedi with my mom.

I am forever hitched to an amazing guy named Matt. He is an amazing husband and father, and you can read more about our love story here. He loves the Lord Jesus and encourages me daily, and that is the main reason why I married him. Matt grew up in Oklahoma, and he is a tried and true Oklahoma Sooners fan! He works as a commended worker at Turkey Hill Ranch Bible Camp and he is in charge of a lot of the advertising, promotion, and IT aspects of the camp. He also shoots and develops the weekly camp videos in the summer with help from summer staff members. He makes me laugh, teases me mercilessly, and loves me more than a person should despite all my faults. Basically, I don't deserve him. :)

This adorable little squishy baby is our son Jackson Edmond. He was born on July 24, 2012, and is the source of so much joy in our lives. You can read more about his birth story here. Jackson is an extremely happy baby, and he laughs all the time. He loves his bottle, his blankets, playing with his toys, and riding around in his carseat and stroller. His first shopping trip was to Target at 3 days old, so I think I can say that that is his favorite store too! He is such a love bug, and Matt and I just sit and laugh at him all the time. It’s amazing how much joy a baby brings, and we cannot imagine life without him now that he is here.
